Does my project need an EIA or an ESIA in Armenia?

Armenian law requires an environmental impact assessment and state expertise for listed activities. Projects financed by international lenders usually also need an ESIA that meets the lender's own standard, which adds social topics such as land, livelihoods and stakeholder engagement. We scope both at the start so one body of fieldwork serves both documents.

Can one report satisfy both Armenian law and World Bank or ADB requirements?

Often the baseline, consultations and management plan can be shared, but the formats and approval routes differ. We plan the work so the national EIA and the lender ESIA draw on the same data and stay consistent.

Environmental and social impact assessment

We prepare environmental and social impact assessments (ESIA), environmental impact assessments (EIA) and initial environmental examinations (IEE) for infrastructure, energy, water and building projects. Our reports are written to pass Armenian state environmental expertise and the safeguard review of the lender at the same time.
